Competitive Pay

We pay above industry standard — from $13.73/hr for crew up to $18.00/hr for Assistant Managers, and $52k–$60k salaried for General Managers. Your work is worth it.

Captain Jay's was founded in 2003 in Detroit, Michigan. Over two decades later we've grown to 32 locations — but our standards have stayed the same: fresh ingredients, made-to-order plates, and a team that takes pride in every shift.

For most of our entry-level roles (FOH Cashier, BOH Line Cook) — no. We hire on attitude and train on skill. For Shift Manager, Assistant Manager, and above, yes, we look for prior experience.

Our hiring team responds within two business days of receiving your application. If selected, we typically schedule a phone screen within the week and an in-person interview shortly after.

Schedules vary by location and role. We offer full-time, part-time, and flexible shifts. We do our best to accommodate school, family, and other commitments — especially for entry-level positions.
